PLT TEKS Correlations

The correlation guide of Project Learning Tree (PLT) and the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) was developed to assist teachers in developing classroom instruction that focuses on the hands-on activities that provide students to apply the TEKS objectives that they have learned. Students will learn important concepts, TEKS objectives, and critical thinking and decision-making skills through the PLT lessons.

PART I -- Sort by Grade and Subject
Part one lists the PLT lessons and the TEKS objectives by subject and grade level. The correlation includes the subject of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies for grades pre-kindergarten through eight. The PLT lessons are listed by number and the TEKS are listed by TEKS number and page number. A description of the TEKS objectives that most closely correlate to the PLT lessons are listed.

PART II -- Sort by PLT Activities
Part two lists the PLT Lesson Overview, Objectives, and Skills and correlates them to the language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. The four core subject areas are correlated with the activities of the PLT lesson number and TEKS objectives. Using part two correlation, teachers will be able to plan lessons that are interdisciplinary and apply learning across the curriculum in grades pre-kindergarten through eight.

TEKS Correlations to PLT High School Modules
The purpose of this guide is to assist secondary teachers who are implementing the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) in their classrooms. The primary audiences are classroom teachers, curriculum specialists, curriculum committees, and college and university teacher education programs.

Part I -- Sort by TEKS
Use Part I if you have a particular TEKS objective in mind to teach and want to know what PLT book and lesson includes that objective. Part I is arranged in alphabetical order by course and includes the TEKS reference code for the course.

Part II -- Sort by Subject
Use Part II if you are looking for TEKS in PLT that are correlated to the subject that is being taught. The subjects are listed in alphabetical order.

Part III -- Sort by Book
Use Part III if you have one or all five of the books and would like to look at all the subjects and TEKS objectives that are included in the book. The correlation is listed first by subject and then by lesson.
